About the project
RANDOM is a panel nightlights store creating handmade nightlights inspired by Soviet panel buildings. The brand focuses on nostalgic urban aesthetics, transforming familiar residential architecture into decorative interior objects with a strong emotional connection to childhood and everyday city life
To create a new logo, brand identity and physical media that translate Soviet panel architecture into a warm, nostalgic, and contemporary visual language.
Inspiration
The main inspiration came from Soviet panel buildings at night. When the city goes quiet, some windows light up while others stay dark — creating a rhythm of light, warmth, and silence. Since the nightlights are designed to be used in the evening and nighttime, this atmosphere became the core visual reference. The illuminated windows of panel houses served as a prototype for both the product and the logo system.
Main logo
The final identity translates the idea of illuminated windows into a clear visual system. The logo and branding feel architectural, calm, and warm at the same time — reflecting both the product’s function as a nightlight and its roots in Soviet panel housing.
Redesign task
The goal of the redesign was to develop a new logo that feels more modern, recognizable, and easy to read, while preserving the core visual idea of the brand.
BRAND IDENTITY
The task was to develop a strong brand identity that reflects the brand’s nostalgic and urban aesthetic, enhances recognition, and strengthens its emotional connection with the audience.
Result
The developed identity established a clear and recognizable visual language for RANDOM, translating the concept of panel architecture into a contemporary design system.
